So today was was Sweden’s national day and here at Pennygången an event was held for this bank holiday. It was an event mainly for the kids with a mechanical bull and bouncy castle, and a small buffet. I actually decided not to participate but my fiancé took Oliver and I was sent a photo via whatsapp of Oliver holding a goodie bag containing a Twix, and your probably thinking no big deal but I haven’t eaten a Twix since moving here.
I’ve actually avoided buying English chocolate bars due to the fact that the prices here are ridiculous so that is likely to ruin any pleasure it may give. But this was a freebie and damn it was mighty fine! Nomz!!!
I’m not going to lie I miss English food, the gravy, sausages and can’t forget those precious Yorkshire puddings.
Luckily the English shop can slightly vanquish the cravings but not fully. Yesterday was a treat of sausages, mash and gravy, nom nom nom, delicious!
Yesterday my beautiful fiancée was wonderful enough to bake a batch of very delicious white choc & raspberry cookies, now as I think most of us will agree that homemade goods are much better then any mass produced rubbish you would buy from Tesco.
Now these cookies were amazing not just because they taste good but because they are the closest thing to Millie’s cookies I have ever tried, Millie’s have always been my favourite so I’m extremely lucky to actually have a partner who can bake to suit my taste, she makes a very good apple crumble too!
